Sotheby's sell a few wonders on Jan. 29 and 30 in New York: a pair of paintings by Hals showing a man (estimated $ 8 million) and a woman (estimated $ 7 million), a Temple of Jupiter Panellenius by Turner (estimated $ 12 million ), a vase of flowers by Ambrosius Bosschaert the elder (estimated $ 4 million), a bagpipe player by ter Brugghen (estimated $ 4 million), an Italian Saint Jerome in terracotta of the fifteenth century ( estimated $ 800 K).
